The Roanoke Valley Heritage Center (RVHC) is a community-driven preservation project dedicated to saving the photographs, artifacts, railroads, businesses, advertising, documents, and stories that helped shape the Roanoke Valley.
Every year, pieces of our local history are lost forever. Historic photographs are discarded, business records disappear, family collections are broken apart, and artifacts connected to our community’s past vanish.
Our mission is simple:

Today, RVHC serves as a growing digital archive and heritage project. Our long-term vision is to establish a permanent Roanoke Valley Heritage Center featuring exhibits, educational displays, a private museum collection, research archives, and a heritage gift shop where visitors can experience local history firsthand.
